Do You Read …

Browsing through my ‘favourites’ or ‘bookmarks’ this morning over a coffee or three it occurred to me that I really should be sharing some of my favourite reads with you.

Follow The Beach at www.twitter.com/BeachinTenerifeOn Twitter (you do follow me on Twitter don’t you?) there is a thing called Follow Friday, the idea is to think of interesting people you already follow and recommend them to others, but not all of The Beach readers are on Twitter and so they will miss out on my recommendations!

So, enter today’s post for a few, certainly not all, of the sites that I regularly read and positively recommend you to have a look at, I hope you will like them too.

These are in no order of preference, so please do not try to read anything in to one being better than the other, they are all great.

Check out this great readLiving Beneath the Volcano – Always a pleasure to read about life in the North of the Island, although there are articles from all over Tenerife too.  I particularly enjoyed today’s ‘One Love in Puerto de la Cruz’.

The writer and his wife moved from Manchester to Tenerife at about the same time as we did and now are on a ‘continuing mission to spread the word that Tenerife is much more than a sun, sand and sea resort for weather weary Europeans’.  They have written a couple of books and are feature writers for a number of travel magazines, guides and websites.

Read all about The Red Queen's Unique WonderlandA relatively new one for me is The Red Queen’s Musings, a place where you can read all about (mainly) Travel, Music and Eating in Tenerife.  Very amusingly written by The Red Queen herself.

To quote from the About page on the site, this ‘blog is not about giving travellers advice – I have done that for the past few years.  My blog is a place for me to write about the things I personally enjoy, the good, the bad, the weird, in fact whatever happens to pop into my head.  It is the way I see things, sometimes opinionated, sometimes cantankerous, and sometimes cynical.’

Visit Tenerife Dogs today and give them your supportAnyone who has followed The Beach in Tenerife for any length of time will know that we are animal lovers, and that all of our animals (apart from the latest addition, Alvin) have been rescued in one way or another.  There is unfortunately a lot of bickering between the various rescue centres here on the island however the one place that brings them all together is Tenerife Dogs, a superb place full of great information and stories collated by Snr. Basil and Nikki.

Please take the time to check these pages out and don’t forget to come back here to let me know what you thought about them.

Which sites do you ‘just have to read’ on a regular basis, come on share them with The Beach!
